YMCA counselling HIV infected childrens

blessYMCA of Navi Mumbai has started counseling the children infected/affected by HIV/AIDS of Bless foundation in Panvel.
The counseling is aimed to transform the affected children due to various problems caused by HIV. These children are affected with shattered family relationships and horrifying effects of the disease. Many of the children got this virus from their parents. Many of them have faced discouragements from societies and even families. Wounds are in their minds. They desperately need encouragements to tackle with effects of the disease that caught them. A special attention into their issues can solve many of their problems.

Counselors are giving all kind of advice and entertainments to engage children with reality of life and face it courageously.  This deals problems faced by children in different areas of life. They help children to face issues in education, relationships and health. The counselors are giving opportunity for children to talk and discuss about their personal lives.

Shaji Varghese, coordinator of counseling department in YMCA, said “we took an important step to help HIV infected children. Most of these children have some unique experiences about their past. Problems happened in relationships and discouragements. It is very important to help these children to come back to the many stream of our society. For this they also need encouragement with rehabilitation. Let their voice be listened.”

Reji Thomas, president of Bless Foundation and a social worker said “we are glad that YMCA took an initiative to counsel those broken hearts. As in this field for many years, I understood that children are the most affected in these cases.  This is why we started rehabilitating such children. But it is also very important to hear their voice and inner thoughts. Most of them are affected by broken relationships and bad effects of the disease. YMCA counseling can surely encourage children to get back into normal life.
