Relatives of a heart patient blaming NMMC hospital for Misdiagnosis of Cardiac arrest

Bose Varghese, a Turbhe resident hospitalized from June 28th in D.Y. Patil Hospital due to a cardiac arrest. The state of the patient become worse, as doctors of NMMC hospital, Vashi misinterpreted the ECG signals as a gas problem. The treatment of a cardiac arrest should start within 3-4 hours, which was missed due to irresponsibility of NMMC Hospital. Proper treatments for the cardiac arrest were 18-19 hours of arrest. “My dad would have been would have been in a better state, if doctors of NMMC hospital had a little patience or responsibility to diagnosis the problems” allege Bibin Varghese, son of Bose Varghese.

The family cannot afford the treatment cost, which now reaching to 2months and about 3.5 lakhs. With the help of some friends, relatives and from their local church of Assemblies of God Vashi more than half of the amount is paid. But Bose remains in the hospital; even after doctors of D.Y. Patil hospital has provided a discharge sign before two weeks. As reaching to two months in hospital, close friends, relative and social organizations are putting efforts to raise funds to pay remaining bills.

Most worse is the medical conditions of Bose Varghese, which haunting his family like a deadly nightmare. Most of the family members have weakened and felt illness due to these conditions. Bose is not able to take breath properly, which stops him from finding sleep. He had to remain awake due to breathing problems, which made his body weaker. 3 blocks have been detected, in which 2 of them are 100 % and the other is 95%. His weak heart pulse stops doctors from conducting a bypass surgery.

Bose’s wife and children thanks god for longing his life for even 2 months were doctors put a limit of 24-48 hours for his life. So the family is hoping for a divine intervention as well as help kindly citizen to pay their bills.
