Under pressure CIDCO agreed to ensure medical insurance for retiring employees from this month.

cidcoAfter pressure from CIDCO employees union, CIDCO Board meeting approved to extend its cashless medical insurance scheme for retired employees and their family from this month. The approval has came on 23 May after CIDCO employees union tabled a request to ensure medical insurance to all it retiring employees. The infrastructure agency of the city was already supporting its employees by providing cashless medical insurance for family also. Now this scheme has extended to retired employees from this month.

This news came with a great relief for it employees as they are not getting any support from CIDCO after retirement. The new scheme will provide medical insurance up to 3 lakh for employee as well his family. CIDCO was already running this scheme since four years to its employees. This new extension will surely help employee and bring cheers on their face. The decision came after the long efforts of employees and CIDCO employees union to ensure the medical security of employees even after retirement.

The new offer from CIDCO will definitely aid many people. Some of the employees have to take big loans for their medical treatment. Since there is no pension for CIDCO employees, loans badly affect their monthly budgets.  Though Maharashtra government has provisions to offer financial aid for its workforce in different departments, CIDCO employees were not getting the facility. Those who joined after 2000 are not eligible for the pension also says a notification from Maharashtra government.  The new facility will help many to commute their medical expenses.

It will cover the medical expenses of former worker/officer, his wife, their two children and parents. HDFC FRGO insurance company will facilitate the new scheme.

Mohan Ninave, PRO of CIDCO, said “we have introduced an ambitious scheme from this month to ensure the medical problems of CIDCO officers even after their retirement. This will help many employees, as their family also comes under the security.”
