Padma Award winners felicitated in D.Y. Patil University

On Monday, D. Y. Patil University has felicitated  the Padma Awards winners of this year from the medical field. Conducted in D.Y. Patil Campus, the program was attended by a huge young audience. In the acceptance speeches, Padma Awards winners, Shared their passion, difficulties and Challenges that they faced on the path towards Glory. Their achievements and contribution to the civil society are introduced and explained to the audience. It has also released a book written by the Department of Dermatology.

Hon. Padma Bhushan Dr. Nandkishore Laud, a Mumbai based orthopaedist and an expert in Traumatology. He is currently associated with Laud Clinic, Shushrusha Citizens Co-operative Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.

Hon. Padma Shri Dr. Amit Maydeo, managing director of the Institute of Advanced Endoscopy, Mumbai. Over the last two decades, he has been credited with doing original work on pancreatic stone disease and also in the treatment of difficult CBD (common bile duct) stones.

Hon. Padma Shri Dr. Sundaran Natarajan, chairman and managing director, AdityaJyot eye Hospital, Mumbai.

Hon. Padma Shri Dr. Rajendra Badwe, Dr Rajendra Achyut Badwe is director of Tata Memorial Centre and professor and head of the department of surgicaloncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. His specialization is in breast cancersurgery.

Winners of India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma awards, accepted the felicitation and thanked audience for encouragement. In the absence of Dr. Rajendra Badwe, Mrs. Badweaccepted the felicitation.

Dr. Vijay D. Patil, President of Dr. D. Y. Patil Group said “Today greatness of a person is defined by his wealth and as shown by the newspapers. But we arehonoured to see these unsung heroes are rewarded with India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma awards.”
